The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Lake County in northeastern Illinois...
McHenry County in northeastern Illinois...
* Until 545 AM CDT.
* At 248 AM CDT, Doppler radar continued to indicated thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Radar estimates that
2 to 4 inches of rain have already fallen across much of the
warned area. While the heavy rainfall will be ending across the
area by 4 am, runoff from this heavy rainfall will likely cause
areas of flash flooding and rapid rises on area creeks and
rivers this morning.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Waukegan, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling,
Northbrook, North Chicago, Gurnee, Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland
Park, McHenry, Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Zion, Grayslake,
Libertyville, Lake Zurich, Lake Forest and Round Lake.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
