This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 45 mph.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Showers and a few storms will increase in areal coverage tonight.
This activity will have the potential to produce heavy
rainfall and flash flooding. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for
locales along and west of I-57 tonight. Some thunderstorms will
also be capable of producing strong wind gusts to 45 mph tonight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Sunday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Significant Flooding Risk.
Monday...
High Swim Risk
Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Wednesday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Thursday and Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected to
continue at times through Sunday evening. Heavy rainfall will
continue to result in a threat for flash flooding, along with
renewed rises on area rivers into the upcoming week. A Flash Flood
Watch is in effect for locales along and west of I-57 through
Sunday evening. Some stronger thunderstorms will be possible
Sunday afternoon and evening, mainly east of I-55 with a threat
for strong wind gusts.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation is not expected at this time but rainfall
reports are appreciated.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 35 to 40 mph.
