This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk near Central Illinois.
Limited hail risk...up to quarter size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Fog Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Expect periods of showers with increasing thunderstorm chances
through the day and tonight. A warm front will shift toward the
I-80 corridor this evening. Near and south of this boundary
the threat for a few strong to near severe thunderstorms exists.
Large hail and damaging winds would be the main hazards.
At this time the better surface instability will remain confined
across central Illinois and points south, therefore while
there is a limited tornado threat, the chances across our
area are low.

Thunderstorms also may produce locally heavy rainfall with a
risk of flooding. The more significant concern will be tonight.

Minor flooding is expected across numerous area rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A threat for a few strong to marginally severe storms exists primarily
on Wednesday mainly along and southeast of I-55 ahead of a cold front.
Gusty winds and small hail would be the main threats with any of the
stronger storms.

Flooding may continue on numerous area rivers.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this evening, mainly well south of Interstate 80.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 40 to 50 mph.
