This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Precipitation will overspread the area tonight, some in the form
of snow, especially over northern Illinois. A minor slushy
accumulation generally under one inch is possible in some
locations by daybreak Sunday.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Sunday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk near Lake Michigan.
Elevated Snow Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk
Wednesday and Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A significant spring storm system will bring slushy snow
accumulations of a few to possibly several inches locally on
Sunday, with the favored axis is generally along and northeast of
Interstate 55. The most likely time for appreciable accumulation
would be Sunday morning through mid day or the early afternoon,
with grass and elevated surfaces more likely for accumulation as
surface temperatures will remain generally above freezing. It's
possible that slush may coat some bridges or overpasses or less
traveled roadways. Expect reduced visibility in snow as it may
fall fairly heavily at times.
In addition, strong northerly winds will build large waves on
southern Lake Michigan and further elevate lake levels, which
could cause some minor lakeshore flooding.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
