This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Damaging Wind Risk...up to 60 mph.
Limited Tornado Risk.
Limited Hail Risk...up to nickel to quarter size.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Winds will gust to 40 to 45 mph at times through early this evening,
with the most likely areas being south of Interstate 80.
Numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop across northwest and
north central Illinois late this afternoon and move across the entire outlook
area this evening. Isolated to perhaps widely scattered severe weather from the
strongest storms is possible. The primary severe threat is strong winds, though
a brief tornado is possible south of the I-80 corridor in parts of central and
north central Illinois. In addition to the threat for severe weather, minor flooding
will be possible from heavy downpours caused by the thunderstorms.

Elevated Fire Weather Risk.
Sunday...
Limited Snow Risk.
Tuesday and Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Wind gusts to 45 mph are possible on Friday.
The next significant storm system could bring wet snow to parts
of the area on Sunday, with accumulation possible.

Spotters may be needed late this afternoon in north central
Illinois, and possibly points east this evening.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 50 to 70 mph.
