THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR North Central Illinois… Northeast Illinois AND Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.  High Swim Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A high swim risk will continue through late morning while waves gradually subside. Moderate swim risk conditions will then continue into the afternoon.

A cold front will result in showers and some thunderstorms late this afternoon through tonight. A few of these storms may be strong, with gusty winds and small hail, late this afternoon and this evening. Heavy rain with any thunderstorm may also result in localized flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Friday.

Sunday…

Moderate Swim Risk.

Tuesday through Friday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Increasing northwest winds following a frontal passage tonight will bring a chance for dangerous swim conditions to southern Lake Michigan on Sunday. The greatest threat will be for the Porter County, Indiana beaches.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
