This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:     Limited Tornado risk.     Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.  Elevated Flooding Risk. High Swim Risk  High Swim Risk

DISCUSSION…

An additional round or two of heavy rain producing showers and some thunderstorms will continue through tonight. These storms have the potential to produce localized flash flooding as many locations have received heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches are expected tonight and Friday morning.

Some thunderstorms that develop through this evening south of a line from Dixon to Morris to Rensselaer will have the potential to produce isolated severe weather. The potential threats with these storms would be brief tornadoes and damaging winds.

Strengthening easterly winds will produce high waves along the Illinois and Lake County Indiana Lake Michigan shore tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday.

Friday…

Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  High Swim Risk

Saturday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

Tuesday through Wednesday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

The potential for showers and isolated thunderstorms to produce heavy rain and localized flash flooding will continue through Friday morning.

Gusty easterly winds will produce high waves along the Illinois and Lake County Indiana Lake Michigan shore Friday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotters may be needed south of Interstate 80 through early evening. Also, rainfall reports are appreciated.
