DISCUSSION:

Two distinct rounds of thunderstorms will be possible. The first round will be Monday night into early Tuesday. Some of these storms could be strong across western Illinois. Very heavy rainfall will also be possible with these storms. A second round of thunderstorms will then be possible late Tuesday afternoon and evening. While this second round of storms will also be capable of producing heavy rain, there is also an increased threat that some of these storms will be capable of being severe, with strong damaging winds and possibly some hail.

Given the wet conditions of late and the possibility for more heavy rainfall, localized flash flooding will be possible Monday night through Tuesday night.

Temperatures and humidity levels will be on the increase later in the week. This could result in heat indices climbing well into the 90s by Thursday and to 100 to 105 degrees Friday and Saturday.

In addition…many area rivers will remain in flood into early this week…though additional rises may be possible Tuesday into Wednesday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
