…Forecast flooding Changed from Minor to Moderate severity for the following river in Illinois…

Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater affecting Kane and McHenry  Counties

.Additional heavy rainfall of one inch or more is possible this afternoon into this evening. The current forecast is for the river to rise back to moderate flood stage by Wednesday evening. Depending on the exact amount of rainfall that occurs, later river stage forecasts may change, including the timing and magnitude of the expected rise.

  • At 930 AM Tuesday the stage was 10.2 feet.

  • Flood stage is 9.5 feet.

  • Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

  • Forecast…The river will continue rising to near 10.5 feet by Wednesday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
