THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR North Central Illinois… Northeast Illinois AND Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Limited Hail Risk...up to nickel to quarter size. Limited Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...winds up to 50 to 60 mph. Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A cold front will result in showers and some thunderstorms late this afternoon through tonight. A few of these storms may be strong, with gusty winds and marginally severe hail, late this afternoon and this evening. The most favored location would be south of Interstate 80 for strong to near severe storms. Heavy rain with any thunderstorm may also result in localized flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Friday.
Sunday…
Moderate Swim Risk.
Tuesday through Friday…
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Increasing northwest winds following a frontal passage tonight will bring a chance for dangerous swim conditions to southern Lake Michigan on Sunday. The greatest threat will be for the Porter County, Indiana beaches.

Spotters may be needed late this afternoon and early evening, though widespread severe weather is not anticipated.
