...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHERN LAKE...NORTHERN MCHENRY
AND NORTHEASTERN BOONE COUNTIES UNTIL 1030 PM CDT...
At 922 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Antioch to near Sharon. Movement was east
southeast at 15 mph.
Penny size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Waukegan, Gurnee, McHenry, Zion, Grayslake, Round Lake, Antioch,
Beach Park, Fox Lake, Harvard, Lake Villa, Wonder Lake, Pistakee
Highlands, Venetian Village, Long Lake, Gages Lake, Lindenhurst,
Johnsburg, Lakemoor and Spring Grove.
This includes... Chain O Lakes State Park, IL Beach State Park, and
Six Flags Great America.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
