Northern De Kalb County in north central Illinois...
Winnebago County in north central Illinois...
Northern Kane County in northeastern Illinois...
McHenry County in northeastern Illinois...
Boone County in north central Illinois...
* Until 645 AM CDT Friday.
* At 1237 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rockford, Waukegan, Buffalo Grove, Carpentersville, North Chicago,
Gurnee, Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland Park, McHenry, Belvidere,
Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Zion, Loves Park, Machesney Park,
Grayslake, Libertyville, Lake Zurich and Lake Forest.
Additional rainfall amounts of one to maybe two inches are possible
in the warned area.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
