This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Elevated Excessive heat Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Heat index readings will reach 100 to 109 degrees this afternoon and early evening.

Scattered thunderstorms through early this evening may produce localized areas of heavy rain and possible flash flooding. In addition, isolated wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible with any stronger storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.

Friday…

Hazardous swimming conditions possible.

DISCUSSION:

Heat index readings will likely again reach 100 to 108 degrees on Thursday, most favored south of Interstate 80.

Scattered thunderstorms, possibly more organized, are expected on Thursday. Some of these may produce localized areas of heavy rain and possible flash flooding. In addition, there is a limited risk of severe damaging winds.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the north at 15 mph.
