This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Early this Morning through Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Elevated Excessive heat Risk.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Heat index readings will reach 100 to 108 degrees this afternoon and early evening.

Scattered afternoon and early evening thunderstorms may produce localized areas of heavy rain and possible flash flooding. In addition, isolated wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible with any stronger storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday…

Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.  Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Heat index readings will likely again reach 100 to 108 degrees on Thursday, most favored south of Interstate 80.

Scattered thunderstorms, possibly more organized, are expected on Thursday. Some of these may produce localized areas of heavy rain and possible flash flooding. In addition, there is a limited risk of severe damaging winds.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 10 mph.
