This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION…

The surface front that has been moving back and forth across the region the past couple days will gradually shift back south across the area today. A widely isolated thunderstorm or two will be possible along this front through early afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms are then expected on the front across southern portions of the forecast area this afternoon. Another round of thunderstorms is expected to move eastward into the area toward daybreak Friday.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday.

Friday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.

Saturday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk south.

Sunday through Tuesday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A surface front will continue to shift back and forth across the region into next week, resulting in periods of showers and thunderstorms. Showers and thunderstorms are not expected to be continuous during this time. The best chance for thunderstorms, will be Friday. A few of these storms could be strong to severe, mainly across the south half of the forecast area Friday afternoon. Heavy rain, including training thunderstorms, will be possible through the day Friday across central and northern portions of the forecast area.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the southeast around 15 mph this afternoon.  Moving toward the east around 20 mph late tonight.
