This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Expect several periods of showers and thunderstorms today, with the
highest coverage of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. This
could include a risk for isolated strong to severe thunderstorms
with a localized strong wind concern, mainly for northern and
central Illinois. We do not anticipate widespread flooding
concerns given the dry ground, but any repeated storm cells over
urban areas could lead to urban and small stream flooding. Areas
northwest of a Streator to Antioch line Saturday afternoon will
initially have the highest coverage, with storms gradually
progressing southeast through the evening.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Sunday and Monday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Monday is forecast to have the highest coverage of thunderstorms
during the work week, with potentially some risk for strong
thunderstorms and localized flooding.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 30 to 35 mph.
