THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH
SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
* LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY
EVENING...PRODUCING AROUND 1 INCH OF ACCUMULATION. THE SNOW WILL
INCREASE IN INTENSITY EARLY SATURDAY MORNING WITH A PERIOD OF
HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE AFTER SUNRISE SATURDAY. THE SNOW IS
EXPECTED TO END BY EARLY SATURDAY EVENING. THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH
SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ALONG AND SOUTH OF A PONTIAC TO KANKAKEE
TO VALPARAISO LINE.
* STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 6 INCHES OR MORE IS EXPECTED.
* SNOW FALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE MID
MORNING SATURDAY.
* SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LOW VISIBILITIES MAY MAKE TRAVEL
HAZARDOUS EARLY SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY EVENING.
* TRAVEL THROUGH CHICAGO O'HARE AND MIDWAY AIRPORTS COULD ALSO BE
SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTED.
