This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk south.
High Swim Risk Illinois beaches.
DISCUSSION...
A few thunderstorms are possible well south of I-80 overnight.
Increasing southeast winds will produce dangerous swimming
conditions for the Illinois beaches along Lake Michigan overnight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
Monday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk Illinois beaches.
Monday night...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Thursday through Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A strong cold front moving across the region Monday night will
bring a period of showers and thunderstorms to the outlook area.
With deep layer moisture pooling ahead of the front, there will be
a chance for some storms to produce locally heavy rainfall and the
potential for some localized flooding. The high moisture along
with moderate instability will bring a chance for some of the
stronger storms to become severe, with damaging winds the primary
severe threat.
Strong southeast winds will produce dangerous swimming conditions
for the Illinois beaches along Lake Michigan through the day
Monday.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 20 to 30 mph.
