This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited hail risk...up to quarter-sized.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
A strong weather system is expected to bring widespread rain and
thunderstorms to the region this afternoon through tonight.
Some storms could be strong to severe with all modes of severe
weather possible. However, damaging wind will be the primary
threat, although a few tornadoes will be possible. The main
corridor for severe weather appears to be south and west of a
Mendota to Rensselaer line. Heavy rainfall will also be possible,
which could lead to isolated instances of flooding into this
evening.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday and Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:
Strong and gusty north winds on Tuesday should result in
dangerous swimming conditions on Tuesday.

Moving toward the east-southeast at 40 to 50 mph late afternoon
