This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to half dollar size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms are likely early this morning along and
south of I-80 in northern Illinois and northwest Indiana. A few
of these storms will be capable of producing large hail and
damaging winds. More widespread thunderstorms are expected through
mid to late morning for locations along and south of I-88 in
northern Illinois and northwest Indiana. These storms will also be
capable of producing large hail and damaging winds. A lull in the
activity is expected by early this afternoon, though a few storms
could develop. If any storms were to develop this afternoon, an
additional severe threat is expected.
Expect a complex of storms to develop across IA this evening, and
then track east into northern IL and northwest IN later in the
night into early Sunday morning. A large hail and damaging wind
threat will accompany these storms, along with the potential for
heavy downpours and localized flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Monday and Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION:
Thunderstorms may still be in place early Sunday morning, with a
few strong to severe storms still possible. Additional
thunderstorms are expected Sunday night across much of the area,
with a threat of strong to severe storms also possible during this
time. Active pattern will continue early next week, with periodic
thunderstorm chances expected through mid week.

Spotters may be needed this morning, and again tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east northeast at 35 to 45 mph.
