This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 50 mph.
DISCUSSION...
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop to our
northwest this afternoon and then shift southward over the area
tonight. Given that these storms are expected to weaken as they
enter far northern IL later this evening, the threat of severe
weather will remain on the lower side. However, some gusty winds will be
possible with the strongest storms this evening as the line approaches
the area, mainly focused north of I-90 near the Wisconsin border
and along and west of I-39.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Additional thunderstorms will occur ahead of a cold front on Tuesday.
Higher confidence for storms is along and southeast of Interstate 55.
Widespread severe weather is not expected, but a few storms could have
briefly gusty winds. Better coverage of storms may be favored farther
south toward southern Illinois and the Ohio Valley.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed late this evening. Widespread severe weather is
not expected, but reports of gusty winds are appreciated.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward east southeast at 20 to 25 mph.
