This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Excessive cold Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Expect overnight lows in the single digits and teens across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, with wind chill values of zero to 10 below.

Flooding from ice jams will continue along portions of the Fox and Rock rivers in northern Illinois.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday…

Elevated Snow Risk.

Saturday…

Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

Sunday…

Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Light snow accumulations are possible on Thursday, with the greatest amounts expected well south of I-80. Moderate snowfall rates are possible along a Streator to Watseka line Thursday evening.

A stronger storm system will bring a chance of thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening and windy conditions Sunday.

Moderate to, locally, heavy rainfall Saturday afternoon and into Saturday evening could lead to localized flooding as well as ice jam flooding on area rivers.
