This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

Weather hazards expected…
Limited Thunderstorm Risk. Elevated Flooding Risk. Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Rain, some heavy, along with embedded thunderstorms will move eastward across the area this evening and early overnight. Because of wet conditions and frozen ground, rises on area rivers and streams will continue across north central and far northern Illinois. Some flooding is also possible in areas away from streams. In addition, some of the showers and storms may produce wind gusts in excess of 40 mph. Isolated brief wind gusts around 40 mph are also possible outside of thunderstorms.

Thursday…
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk. Limited Flooding Risk. Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk. Limited Fire Weather Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Strong south to southwest winds are expected on Thursday, with gusts of 45 to 55 mph likely.
Scattered thunderstorms may develop along a cold front during the day on Thursday, with a risk for isolated damaging winds the main severe threat. The greatest threat for any severe weather will be over eastern Illinois and into northwest Indiana.
Rises on area rivers and streams from mid-week rain on still frozen ground may cause localized flooding on Thursday.
Flooding will continue along portions of the Rock, Kishwaukee, Fox, Illinois and Des Plaines rivers.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 50 to 60 mph.
