This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible into this afternoon, mainly along and just south of the Interstate 80 corridor.

In addition, flooding will continue along portions of the Rock, Pecatonica, and Fox Rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday.

Friday…

Limited Flooding Risk south of I-80.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

Saturday…

Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk

DISCUSSION:

Moderate to occasionally heavy rain is likely for portions of the area on Friday evening into the overnight, primarily south of I-80. Significant rainfall totals of over one inch are possible, which could cause minor river and lowland flooding.

Strong northerly winds on Saturday will cause large waves, increased lake levels, and a risk for lakeshore flooding.

Flooding will continue along portions of the Rock and Pecatonica Rivers.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
