This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Periods of rain tonight may cause localized flooding...

especially across north central Illinois including Rockford.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday…

Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

Thursday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A powerful spring storm will bring rain... which combined with

snowmelt and nearly saturated and frozen ground may lead to flooding along rivers and streams. The greatest concern for river flooding is across Rock and Fox river basins.

A few isolated thunderstorms Thursday may become severe... with

damaging wind gusts the main severe threat.

Heavy rainfall from showers and storms Wednesday night and

Thursday may cause ponding of water and minor flooding in low lying areas.

High winds are expected Thursday... with gusts of 45 mph or

higher possible.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
