This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Periods of rainfall tonight may cause localized flooding, mainly  toward northwest portions of the outlook area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday…

Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

Thursday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.

DISCUSSION:

There is a chance of river as well as areal flooding Wednesday  night into Thursday resulting from snowmelt together with runoff  from showers and thunderstorms. The biggest concern at this time  would appear to be in the western half of the forecast area. This  includes the Rock and Fox rivers in northern Illinois.
There is a low chance that some of the thunderstorms Thursday  may be severe, with damaging wind gusts the main severe threat.
Very strong winds are expected to develop Thursday afternoon and  evening, with gusts over 45 mph possible.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
