THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated to Significant Fog Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Fog is expected again tonight. At this point we do not anticipate
widespread dense fog, but at least patchy dense fog is certainly
possible.
Localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on area rivers.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday...
Elevated Fog Risk.
Thursday Night...
Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.
Limited Snow or Sleet Risk.
Friday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
Saturday through Monday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Areas of fog will remain probable through Wednesday night, along
with the risk for at least patchy dense fog. Rain could change to
a wintry mix on Thursday night as colder air returns, with some
potential for minor snow, sleet and/or ice accumulation.
On Friday into Saturday, there is a chance for a significant
storm system to impact portions of the region with accumulating
snow and wind. At this point the more likely snow track is along and
just to the east of the I-65 corridor. There is also a risk for accumulating
lake effect snow into portions of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana
Friday night into Saturday. Outside of the snow potential, below zero wind
chills will return Friday night through Monday.
Localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on area rivers.
