THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
Significant Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Lake effect snow showers will impact far northeast Illinois and
northwest Indiana this morning, and will persist across northwest
Indiana this afternoon and tonight. Localized accumulations of 2
to 3 inches are possible near the lake in Lake and Cook counties
in Illinois, and in Lake county Indiana. The potential exists for
a longer duration band of lake effect snow to linger across Porter
county Indiana into this evening, which could bring locally higher
amounts, of up to 6 inches. Reduced visibility and slipper travel
due to snow covered roads are possible.

Localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on area rivers.
