WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Fog Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Areas of dense fog will slowly improve during the mid to late
evening.
Localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on area rivers.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
Thursday...
Elevated Fog Risk.
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.
Elevated Snow Sleet Risk.
Friday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
Saturday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
Sunday through Tuesday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A strong cold front will move across the area Thursday afternoon
into Thursday evening. A mixture of light sleet and snow is
possible northwest of Interstate 55 late Thursday afternoon and
early Thursday evening.
A period of sleet and freezing rain is expected southeast of
Interstate 55 Thursday evening...changing to all snow by Friday
morning. Some ice accumulation is expected along with sleet and
snow accumulation.
Lake effect snow showers are expected Friday night and Saturday
and may affect far northeast Illinois in addition to northwest
Indiana.
A clipper system is expected to move across the area Sunday night
into Monday morning with some snow accumulation possible.
Localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on area rivers.
