This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Saturday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Snow Risk parts of northwest and north central Illinois.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A storm system will move through the area Friday through early
Sunday. Precipitation will likely begin as rain across much of the
area by Friday afternoon, but may mix with or change to snow
across far northwest and far northern Illinois late Friday night
into early Saturday. The rain snow line would then likely shift
gradually southeast through Saturday evening as colder air is
drawn into the departing storm. Though some uncertainty remains in
the exact track of this system it appears that portions of
northwest and far northern Illinois would have some potential for
at least some snow accumulation. Strong northerly winds will also
result in the potential for minor lakeshore flooding along the
Lake Michigan shore during this storm, with gusts to 35 mph
possible along the lake and even inland across parts of northern
Illinois. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts for additional
detail as the storm approaches.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
