This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk early this morning.

DISCUSSION...

Lingering light freezing rain and freezing drizzle will result in
additional light ice accumulations early this morning, mainly
north of I-80. Snow or slush and ice covered roads will likely
impact travel into the start of the morning commute.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday night and Friday...
Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.
Elevated Snow and Sleet Risk.
Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk for the Illinois Shore on Friday.

DISCUSSION:

A strong weather system will move north over the area very late
Thursday night and Friday bringing an accumulating wintry mix,
including freezing rain. A period of at least light icing for
much of the area is likely. In addition, strong easterly winds
will result in a limited lakeshore flooding risk for the Illinois
shore on Friday.
