This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Limited Thunderstorm Risk southeast of Interstate 55.
Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk lakeside.
Limited Fog Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk north central Illinois.
Significant Lakeshore Flood Risk far northeast Illinois.

DISCUSSION...

A storm system will shift through the region today. Strong
northerly winds will result in the potential for lakeshore
flooding along the Lake Michigan shore tonight through Saturday,
with gusts to 40 mph possible along the lake across parts of
northern Illinois.

Rain will mix with and then change to snow across northwest and far
northern Illinois early this morning. The rain snow line would then
likely shift gradually southeast through Saturday evening as
colder air is drawn into the departing storm. It appears that
portions of northwest and far northern Illinois would have some
potential for at least some minor slushy snow accumulations, favored
across Winnebago and Boone counties. In spite of marginal surface
temperatures, a few hours of moderate to heavy snow rates would lead
to rapid wet snow accumulation on roadways mid to late morning.
See the Winter Weather Advisory for more information.

A few thunderstorms are also possible southeast of Interstate 55
this morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Sunday...
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk in the morning for northwest
Indiana, easing in the afternoon.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 40 mph.
