This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Ice accumulation Risk Tonight.

DISCUSSION…

A period of light snow and freezing drizzle is possible along and north of Interstate 80 tonight, mainly after 9 pm. This may lead to patchy slick roads.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Saturday through Thursday.

Sunday…

Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.  Limited Snow Risk.

Monday…

Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.

Tuesday and Wednesday…

Limited Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Bitterly cold air for this time of year will return to the region later Sunday and persist through Tuesday.

These cold temperatures will create favorable conditions for river ice formation. Increased river ice may cause ice jams with little notice, especially along the Rock, Fox, and Kankakee Rivers.
