DISCUSSION...
Scattered non-severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon,
primarily across inland portions of northern and central Illinois.
High waves will lead to a heightened threat of rip currents at
northwest Indiana beaches.

Hot and humid conditions look poised to return this weekend into
next week. Heat indices may approach or even exceed 100 degrees,
especially Sunday and Monday. Scattered shower and storm chances
exist daily through the extended although most hours will likely
