...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois,
including the following counties, in north central Illinois,
Boone, De Kalb, Ogle and Winnebago. In northeast Illinois, Kane
and McHenry.

* WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1049 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen with the
highest amounts between Winnebago and Machesney Park.
- Additional rainfall amounts potentially in excess of 2 inches
are expected over the area. This additional rain will result
in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rockford, Elgin, Crystal Lake, Carpentersville, Algonquin,
Lake in the Hills, Belvidere, Woodstock, Huntley, Loves Park,
Machesney Park, Roscoe, Marengo, Poplar Grove, Genoa,
Rockford Airport, Cary, Pingree Grove, Gilberts and West
Dundee.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
