...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois,
including the following areas, in north central Illinois, Boone,
De Kalb, Lee, Ogle and Winnebago. In northeast Illinois, Central
Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake IL, McHenry, Northern Cook and Southern
Cook.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Area creeks and streams are already elevated, increasing
the risk of flooding due to additional rainfall. Extensive street
flooding and flooding of structures is possible, particularly near
Rockford.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Additional thunderstorms this morning may cause renewed flash
flooding across the watch area. Additional thunderstorms this
evening and through early Tuesday morning may prompt
additional Flood Watches.
