...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois,
including the following counties, in north central Illinois,
Boone. In northeast Illinois, McHenry.
* WHEN...Until 800 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Slow
moving or standing water may continue.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 652 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen,
with the heaviest rain over 4 inches in rural areas north of
a line from Belvidere to Marengo.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are expected
over the area, though most of the rain has ended.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lake in the Hills, Belvidere, Woodstock, Huntley, Marengo,
Poplar Grove, Candlewick Lake, Lakewood, Bull Valley,
Timberlane, Union and Garden Prairie.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
