At 1110 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles northwest of Rockton to Morrison. Movement was east southeast at 45 mph.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include… Rockford, Belvidere, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Dixon, Rochelle, Harvard, South Beloit, Rockton, Oregon, Mount Morris, Rockford Airport, Roscoe, Poplar Grove, Byron, Cherry Valley, Winnebago, Polo, Pecatonica and Kirkland.

I-39 between mile markers 97 and 123. I-88 between mile markers 47 and 79. I-90 between mile markers 1 and 2, and between mile markers 47 and
76.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
