This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…Early this Morning through Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph. Limited Flooding Risk. Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Showers and some thunderstorms will move across the area during the day. Some of these storms, particularly this afternoon, may produce strong wind gusts. The showers and storms will also produce some heavy downpours. While some localized minor flooding could result, it appears the threat of significant flash flooding will remain low today.
A strong cold front will move across the area late this afternoon into the early evening. In the wake of this front, winds are expected to become west northwesterly and gust up to 35 to 40 mph tonight.
River levels will remain in flood along some northern Illinois rivers, especially the Pecatonica and Rock.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.
Thursday night, Friday night and Monday night…
Elevated Frost Risk.
