This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Limited damaging wind risk...up to 50 mph. Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible across portions of the area this afternoon. These storms will be capable of producing isolated gusty winds and brief periods of heavy rain.
Additional showers and thunderstorms are likely to shift into northwestern and north central IL tonight. These storms will be capable of producing heavy rain and gusty winds. Also, given the potential for multiple heavy rain producing storms to move over the same areas tonight, there will be a threat for isolated flash flooding over north central IL.
River levels will remain in flood along some northern Illinois rivers, especially the Pecatonica and Rock.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday…
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk. Elevated Flooding Risk.
Thursday…
Elevated Frost Risk.
Friday and Saturday…
Significant Frost Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Showers and thunderstorms are likely across the area on Wednesday. Some of these storms could produce strong wind gusts. In addition, the threat for heavy rainfall will continue and this could result in additional flooding concerns.
River levels will remain in flood along some northern Illinois rivers, especially the Pecatonica and Rock.

Spotters may be needed this afternoon and tonight.
