This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:     Limited damaging wind risk...up to 50 to 60 mph.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.

DISCUSSION…

A line of showers, with an isolated thunderstorm possible, will move across the area ahead of a cold front prior to sunset. A few isolated strong wind gusts are possible with as this occurs. An area of heavier showers mainly east of Interstate 57 could produce some ponding or minor flooding on some roadways prior to sunset, though it appears the threat of flash flooding will remain low.

In the wake of the strong cold front passage tonight, west northwesterly winds could gust up to 35 to 40 mph.

Flooding will continue along portions of the Rock, Pecatonica, Des Plaines and Fox river basins.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday night, Friday night and Monday night…

Significant Frost and or Freeze Risk.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotters are unlikely to be needed through sunset.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the northeast at 40 to 50 mph.
