This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Limited Thunderstorm Risk. Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION…
A cold front has pushed south into central Illinois and Indiana since earlier today. A mid-level disturbance will lift across the region overnight, and will likely result in the development of showers and a few thunderstorms north of the front after midnight. While the atmosphere remains unseasonably moist for October, instability and forcing are both weaker than earlier today and last night. Therefore, no widespread heavy rainfall or severe weather is expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Thursday.
Sunday and Monday…
Limited Flooding Risk. Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Tuesday and Wednesday…
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Additional periods of showers and thunderstorms are possible through mid-week.
Flooding potential along portions of the Rock, Pecatonica, Fox and Des Plaines Rivers will continue for the next several days.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 40 mph.
