This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph. Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Scattered thunderstorms are expected this morning across much of the outlook area. Severe weather is not expected during this time, however, heavy rainfall and the threat of flash flooding remain. Additional thunderstorms are expected this afternoon into this evening, especially along and southeast of the Kankakee River Valley in Illinois and Indiana. An isolated strong to severe storm is possible, with heavy rainfall and damaging winds the main hazards.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Friday.
Sunday and Monday…
Limited Flooding Risk. Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Tuesday…
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Wednesday…
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Additional periods of heavy rain producing thunderstorms are likely through the middle of next week.
Flooding potential along portions of the Rock, Pecatonica and Fox Rivers will continue.
