An area of showers and a few thunderstorms will move across the area early this morning, before ending by mid morning. No severe weather is expected with this activity.

Additional thunderstorms are expected to develop and increase in areal coverage across northern IL this evening. The highest threat for this tonight will be primarily along and north of I-80. A few isolated strong to possibly severe storms could also occur with these storms tonight.
