This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 MPH. Limited hail risk...up to quarters. Limited Tornado risk. Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Southwest winds will be gusting 35 to 40 MPH this afternoon.
A line of showers and storms will reach north-central Illinois this evening. The strongest storms may produce damaging winds up to 60 MPH and hail. Storms will weaken as they move across the outlook area tonight; however, heavy rain is possible with the storms.
Flooding continues along portions of the Rock and Pecatonica Rivers.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.
Thursday…
Limited Flooding Risk. Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday…
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday through Tuesday…
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
An active stretch of weather is expected across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana through early next week. Expect rises on area rivers and streams as a result of multiple rounds of heavy rain producing thunderstorms. Favored basins include the Rock and Pecatonica.
