This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Early this Morning through Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:     Elevated Tornado risk.     Elevated hail risk...up to quarter size.     Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 MPH.  Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Scattered thunderstorms may form along a stalled warm front between Interstate 80 and Interstate 88 this afternoon. These storms may produce large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Additional thunderstorms ahead of an approaching cold front will enter north-central Illinois early this evening. These storms will be capable of producing hail and damaging winds especially across areas along and northeast of Interstate 55.

Storms may train north of Interstate 88 and create localized flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday through Sunday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotters may be needed late this afternoon through this evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east at 45 to 55 MPH.
