THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR North Central Illinois...
Northeast Illinois AND Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado Risk.
Limited Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Limited Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
Significant Fire Weather Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Windy, warm and very dry conditions will ease tonight. The
combination of very low relative humidity levels and south
winds gusting to 25 to 30 mph will result in a significant
wildfire risk. The greatest risk will be along and east of
Interstate 55. However, the risk will still be elevated across
the western portions of the outlook area.
Thunderstorms will be possible late tonight as a cold front
moves through the Upper Mississippi Valley. There is a chance
that a few storms may become strong to severe across
northwestern Illinois.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday and Thursday...
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
There will be a continued chance for thunderstorms until
early Friday as the cold front very slowly moves south
through the area. The slow movement of the front and an
increase in deep moisture will lead to periods of heavy
rain, with a limited flooding risk.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed late Tuesday night.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving northeast at 45 MPH.
