…THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CDT FOR NORTHERN LAKE AND NORTHEASTERN MCHENRY COUNTIES…
At 1045 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain fell causing urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Doppler radar indicates that one to three inches of rain have already fallen. Heavy rain has ended, however, runoff may continue to lead to rises of water levels.
Some locations that will experience flooding include… Waukegan, North Chicago, Gurnee, McHenry, Zion, Grayslake, Libertyville, Round Lake, Antioch, Beach Park, Fox Lake, Lake Villa, Park City, Gages Lake, Pistakee Highlands, Venetian Village, Long Lake, Lindenhurst, Johnsburg and Lakemoor.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
