THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR North Central Illinois...
Northeast Illinois AND Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to half dollar size.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Showers and thunderstorms are expected early this morning across
northern Illinois. The severe threat with these storms is low.
However, some small hail and a brief period of heavy rainfall will
be possible with the strongest storms.
Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to
develop across the area late this afternoon and into tonight.
Multiple heavy rain producing storms may move over the same areas
resulting in an increased threat for flash flooding across
northern IL tonight. The highest threat for this will be generally
along and north of I-80. Some of these storms could also be severe
tonight, particularly along and south of I-80. The primary
severe threat is large hail.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Monday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Tuesday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Wednesday through Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Periods of showers and thunderstorms will remain possible over
the next several days, as a nearly stationary frontal boundary
remains just south of the outlook area. There is some potential
for strong to severe storms, along with heavy rainfall, again
Sunday night and late Monday into Monday night.
