THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR North Central Illinois...
Northeast Illinois AND Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop late tonight.
Some of these storms may be capable of producing hail, with the
strongest storms producing hail of up to quarter size. Locally
heavy rainfall amounts are also possible, with these storms,
especially where more than one storm tracks across a particular
location.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Saturday...
Elevated Flooding Risk.
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Sunday...
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Monday through Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Periods of showers and thunderstorms will remain possible over
the next several days, as a nearly stationary frontal boundary
remains just south of the outlook area. There is some potential
for strong to severe storms from late Saturday through Saturday
night or early Sunday morning. The primary severe weather threat
from these storms would be from large hail, though could be a
marginal threat of damaging winds for storms south of Interstate
80, closer to the surface front where low level instability will
be greater. The potential for locally heavy rainfall also persists
through Saturday night, with the potential for rainfall amounts
of an inch or more, especially if multiple storms train across the
same location.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
moving to the east at 35 to 40 MPH...
